My Bio
I'm going to be very lazy and paste my first journal entry here.

A little bit about me, I live in Vancouver (technically, I guess), BC. I always had a fascination and passion for photography when I was in high school. I started with B&W film with a nice old Nikon F1, even had a darkroom and all the fixin's. After high school it became harder to afford photography (being poor and freshmanlike). So, with little money and a few unfortunate events I stopped all together.

I got back into photography when I recently switched to digital and am now the proud owner of a Canon 450D/XSi! Why switch from Nikon to Canon? No reason, the Canon was on a really great Boxing Day sale and I'm still poor! What can I say about going digital? Yes, I sometimes miss the claustrophobic bathroom/makeshift darkroom with the pleasant (yet non-addictive) vinegar fumes. But, digital is just so damn convenient and the results are spectacular!

What do I shoot? Right now, just about everything. I do a lot of street photography, nature photography, landscapes, waterscapes, skyscapes, some architecture and am now trying my hand at portraits.

I try to bring my camera everywhere with me because you never know when you run into a moment you just have to capture. I prefer to shoot in monochrome, but I'm not a purist. If an image's impact looks better in colour, then it gets developed in colour.

So, that's pretty much it in a big nutshell. If you happen to be reading this I'll try my best to do updates (if not to my gallery then to the journal), but no promises! Drop me a line if you like I'm always ready to talk shop.

It's been a while hasn't it.  The last bit of while haven't been the most eventful times for me.  A few weeks ago, Brad ~bcdirector (https://www.deviantart.com/bcdirector) and I wanted to go on a mini-photo-adventure up to Whistler (a nice 3 hour drive from Vancouver) and do stops along the way.  The weather had been pretty crappy and when the clouds finally parted we couldn't resist heading out there and see what we could see. The day of our trip turned out to be a cloudless winter day.  Sun was shining, sky was blue, air was nice and frigid.  Our first stop was Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver.  It took a bit of getting, mostly because the roads leading into Lighthouse Par

Yup, we went back. My good friend Brad ~bcdirector (https://www.deviantart.com/bcdirector) and I went back to Steel Temple Tattoos http://www.steeltempletattoos.com a couple weeks ago to shoot some more since last time we didn't get as much as we wanted. Good stuff, bad stuff.  The good stuff is I got to spend a bit more time with Jessie this time around.  In fact, she was my only model for the evening, despite Becca being there as well.  We tried something new this time around and put that beautiful Harley in front of the store front.  We shot at night so we figured the dark exterior would be perfect for what we wanted.  Unfortunately, lighting with the window proved to be

Finally!  DONE! Last week my good friend Brad ~bcdirector (https://www.deviantart.com/bcdirector) and I went to his friend's tattoo shop to do a nice double photo shoot.  3 models, 2 photographers, 2 make up artists.  The good side, we got quite a few good stuff.  Bad side, we wanted to do more but we ran out of time!  Another good side, we're going to go back to shoot again next week, so beware! Now for the kudos.  Tons of thanks to Brad, Wolf Bennette (plug to his great tattoo shop Steel Temple Tattoos http://wwww.steeltempletattoos.com ), Jessie Kate Frederick, Becca Copiat, Andrea Abaya and Amy Diedrich!  Thanks everyone! Like last time we brought out the mighty 60" umb
